The main floor of the Altes Museum features the antiquities collection in an ongoing exhibit titled “Neue Antike im Alten Museum” (New Antiquities in the Old Museum). Entering from the Lustgarten—currently under reconstruction—visitors step directly into a domed rotunda. The space is decorated with red and white cameos in a Greek style and lined with statues of the gods, creating a dramatic introduction to the galleries.
From the rotunda, head to the back and turn left. Continue along the long gallery, then make another left into a small room at the end. This is where the Hildesheim silver collection is displayed.
