A.V. Fomin Botanical Garden

Kyiv, Ukraine

A.V. Fomin Botanical Garden stretches across 22.5 hectares and is home to an impressive collection of 8,000 plant species. Known for its rare and exotic plants, the garden attracts visitors and researchers interested in botany and the natural world.

Greenhouse and Record-Breaking Palms

One of the highlights of the garden is its remarkable greenhouse, originally constructed to house the largest and oldest palm trees in Northern Eurasia. For many years, this building was considered among the tallest greenhouses in the world, making it a significant feature both for its architecture and the unique plant life it protects.

A Legacy of Botanical Research

In 1935, the garden was named in honor of academician A.V. Fomin, who led and developed the garden for many years. His leadership contributed to the garden’s reputation as a center for scientific study and plant conservation.
