Golden Gate

The Golden Gate, originally constructed in the 11th century, carries a long and eventful history. Although the original structure was destroyed in the 17th century, efforts to rebuild the gate have given it a new presence, blending the spirit of the past with modern restoration.

Features of the Rebuilt Structure

Today, the Golden Gate stands as a crenelated tower reaching a height of 14 meters. Its imposing appearance is marked by defensive architectural elements typical of its era. Visitors approaching the entrance encounter a wooden portcullis, covered with metal for extra protection, guarding one side. On the opposite side, the entry is secured by elaborately patterned doors, reflecting attention to craftsmanship and design.
