Museum of Historical Treasures of Ukraine

The Museum of Historical Treasures of Ukraine is located inside the Kovnirivskyi building, a former convent bakery from the 17th century. This historic building was carefully reconstructed between 1744 and 1745. Its main faсade was designed to match the style of the Old Cathedral cell, creating a harmonious architectural appearance.

Rare Collections and Unique Exhibits

Recognized as one of the most important museums in Ukraine and the world, the museum is dedicated to showcasing historical and artistic monuments made from precious metals and gemstones. The museum’s impressive collection features around 56,000 items, including archeological finds and examples of applied art.

Among the standout treasures on display is the famous Martynivka Treasure, discovered in 1909 in the village of Martynivka in today’s Cherkasy Oblast. This remarkable hoard includes about 120 silver objects, each with a silver content (probe) ranging from 400 to 900. The Martynivka Treasure is a highlight for many visitors, offering a glimpse into the rich history and artistry of Ukraine’s past.
