Opened in 1976, Pivnichnyi Bridge stands as an impressive example of Soviet-era engineering in Kyiv. This cable-stayed bridge features a distinctive design, with its main beam suspended by a cluster of strong steel cables attached to a soaring 115-meter-tall A-shaped pylon.
Design and Construction
The bridge was crafted under the vision of architect A.V. Dobrovolsky and engineer G.B. Fux. Their expertise resulted in a structure that not only serves a practical purpose but also adds to the city's skyline. The main span stretches 816 meters in length and measures 31.4 meters wide, crossing the broad Dnieper River. Another section of the bridge covers the Desyonka, a tributary of the Dnieper, with a length of 732 meters and a width of 29.1 meters.

Pivnichnyi Bridge plays a crucial role in Kyiv’s traffic network. It forms a key part of the city’s northern beltway, linking the Petrivka district with busy neighborhoods in the northeast.
