Dr Johnson's House

Dr. Samuel Johnson, a celebrated 18th-century literary figure, is renowned for creating the extensive English Dictionary of 1755. In addition to this monumental work, he was a prolific writer, producing numerous poems, essays, and novels. A small, independent museum dedicated to his life and work offers visitors a glimpse into the past, showcasing historic interiors, paintings, prints, and personal belongings that recreate the atmosphere of his residency from 1748 to 1759.
