House of Lords Strangers' Gallery

Moving away from the hustle of the Commons, a corridor leads towards the Lords, where tradition meets grandeur. Visitors interested in witnessing history in action can request to access the Strangers' Gallery. A representative from Black Rod will ask for a completed form with your name and address before you can proceed.

Ascending the staircase, anticipation builds as visitors prepare to enter the Lords Strangers' Gallery. Similar to other areas, personal items must be left outside, ensuring the space remains respectful and secure.

The Impressive Chamber

Among the two chambers, the Lords stands out with its breathtaking features. The majestic throne captures attention from across the room, a focal point where the King addresses the assembly. During the State Opening each year, this throne is where the King delivers a speech detailing the Government's plans, setting the tone for the year ahead.
