The Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden is seen from the far end, looking towards the viewing pavilion and the cherry trees. Also shown in this photograph is the taiko-bashi, or drum bridge, which, when reflected in the water, resembles a Japanese drum known as a taiko, or a large Japanese barrel drum.

Brooklyn Botanic Garden

New York, United States of America

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden spans 52 acres and boasts a thoughtfully planned layout. Originally designed by the Olmsted Brothers in 1910, it has welcomed visitors since 1911. The garden is home to an authentic Japanese garden, a delightful Children's Garden, and the vibrant Cranford Rose Garden.

The Cherry Blossoms

One of the garden's standout features is its impressive collection of cherry blossom trees. With 42 stunning varieties, it holds the largest gathering of these trees outside of Japan. During spring, these blossoms provide a breathtaking display of nature's beauty.

Festivities Throughout the Year

Throughout the year, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden hosts a variety of festivities that attract visitors from near and far. In May, the Hanami Sakura celebration highlights the cherry blossoms at their peak. Later in the year, October brings the flavorful Chile Pepper Festival, adding a spicy twist to the garden's events.
