Bois de Vincennes, Paris, France.
Bois de Vincennes, Paris, France. The Temple of Love is the work of Gabriel Davioud in 1860.
The facade of the great pagoda of Vincennes features the Wheel of the Law, or dharma-chakra, the eight-spoked wheel. The pagoda in the Bois de Vincennes was installed in the former Cameroon pavilion, one of the remnants of the 1931 colonial exhibition (architect: Louis-Hippolyte Boileau), which has been restored. It houses the largest Buddha in Europe, covered with gold leaf and measuring, with its base, more than 9 meters high. Within the grounds of the Vincennes pagoda, the Tibetan Buddhist temple of Kagyu-Dzong was also built between 1983 and 1985.
