Bioparco

Located on the edge of Rome’s Borghese Gardens, Bioparco is one of the oldest zoos in Europe. Founded in 1911, this historic site is easily reached by following the short, well-marked paths from the nearby Borghese Gallery.

A Classic Zoo Experience in Rome

Bioparco aims to provide a traditional zoo visit, with a variety of animal enclosures that reflect its long history. While there are efforts to maintain and improve the facilities, the experience is more classic than modern. Visitors familiar with larger or more innovative zoos, such as San Diego, may find Bioparco a little less advanced in comparison.
