Palazzo Taverna, Rome

Palazzo Taverna, Rome

Rome, Italy

Palazzo Taverna stands tucked away in a quiet corner between Piazza Navona and Castel Sant'Angelo, two of Rome’s most famous landmarks. This grand building once served as the residence of the Orsini family, a powerful and influential name in Roman history.

The Courtyard and Its Fountain

Today, Palazzo Taverna is in private hands and not open to the public. Still, visitors walking by are often drawn to the peaceful courtyard, where a magnificent fountain catches the eye. Built in 1618 by architect Antonio Casoni, the fountain remains a beautiful example of Baroque design. Even a quick look through the gates offers a glimpse into the elegance and history of this remarkable spot.
